Some credit cards are designed for people with bad credit. These bad credit credit cards give you the opportunity to rebuild your credit. Credit cards designed for people with bad credit typically have very high interest rates, but if you have bad credit, then you may not have a choice. Of course, the benefit is that you will have a chance to rebuild your credit.
Some of these bad credit credit cards also require no credit check, but be sure to read the terms and conditions before you apply. Although you may not find all the terms favorable, if you are in a position where you have bad credit and you need to rebuild it, then you may not have another option.
Just because these are bad credit credit cards, it doesn’t mean you should not be diligent and pay on time. In fact it is even more important to make your payments as this is the best way to start to rebuild your credit. You don’t want to end up with bad credit again, so be sure to only make purchases if you can afford them.
Bad credit credit cards can be grouped into two categories. The first category of cards for people with bad credit are secured credit cards. These cards require a security deposit, much like a checking or savings account. When you make charges on this card, it uses the balance you have deposited. This type of bad credit credit card allows you to benefit from the convenience of a credit card, even if you have a bad credit record. Further, this can allow you to rebuild your credit.
Another category of bad credit credit cards are prepaid credit cards. These are very similar to the previously mentioned secured credit cards although typically you can only spend up to the total balance you have deposited into the account.
Something else that may be considered a credit card for people with bad credit is when you do a debt consolidation and transfer all your debt onto a special consolidated debt card. You would basically transfer debt from high interest rate credit cards to one that has a low APR.
