Secured Credit Cards – For People With Credit Problems
If you are someone with a low credit score, or no credit history then secured credit cards may be for you. These cards offer a way for you to rebuild your credit. Secured credit cards typically require a deposit which acts as a credit line in case a payment is missed. Secured credit cards are also typically reported to the credit reporting agencies just as if it were a traditional credit card.
If you’re after a secured credit card, then be sure that when you get one, to make your payments on time. You don’t want to land up the the same position you were that resulted in your credit being impacted.
Some of the secured credit cards offered by institutions include Prepaid Visa® Purple Diamond RushCard, ACE Visa Prepaid Debit Card, UPside Visa® Prepaid Card, AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® Card and READYdebit® Visa Prepaid Card. There are of course many others.
Usually what happens after you get your secured credit cards, within six-months to a year of good payment history on a secured card you will be approved for a traditional credit card.
Just be sure that if you are going down this road that you are able to make your payments. Don’t buy something on credit if you can’t afford it, and be sure to make your payments on time, otherwise you’ll just find yourself back where you started from.
